"There will be a new Cochise County Attorney come next January, after County Attorney Brian McIntyre agreed Tuesday to end his reelection campaign by consenting to be disqualified as a candidate (Neff, Sierra Vista Herald)."  

As a result there are now three certified write-in candidates running in the primary election on July 30th. In order to be placed as a candidate on the ballot for the general election Republican candidates must receive 573 write-in votes and receive more write-ins than other candidates running in their party.
